The New York Daily News had a brief interview with Emma Watson where she talked about her life in growing up Potter and after. She has also mentioned that she will begin her post-Potter life slowly but surely and that has to start with university. Here is an excerpt:

A lot of people are wondering why you would want to give up what seems like a glamorous lifestyle for a college dorm …

It must appear super-glamorous, and there are certainly moments like this week when it is glamorous. But 90% of the time it’s not so glamorous. Maybe it’s just like the grass is always greener. But normal things just sound so appealing right now. Just normal stuff. So I think I am [ready]. I’d probably be naive if I didn’t think it would take me a little while to adjust, because I’ve lived quite a strange life up until now. But, I think I’m still in touch with normality and reality enough, I hope, for it not to be too devastating.

What are you looking to get out of going to a university?

I think university, the college experience, just sounds so great. I just don’t want to miss out on it. I think it’s a great time to make friends. I think it’s a great time to figure out who you are and what you like. … And I think as an actress when you portray a million different types of people from a million different backgrounds … if I’ve lived my whole life on film sets and on red carpets, how am I meant to portray someone who has a normal life?

If you were to leave this hotel right now and walk a block in any direction, how far would you get before you were mobbed or photographed?

If I wanted to leave this hotel I would go with Denise (my security guard) now and we would try to leave the hotel through the underground passage. We would try to use a car that had a number plate that the paparazzi hadn’t already [seen], so we’re swapping cars. I would probably have someone with me the whole time. There are a million life-size posters of me out there and billboards and everything. I was on the “Today” show this morning. There’s no chance of me being able to walk down the street with all that going on.

We also have Emma’s photos from the photoshoot by Charles Sykes, which was done during the HBP Promotion in New York.

In an article by the Digital Spy, Emma Watson has mentioned that the last Potter films, The Deathly Hallows is going to be different from the previous Potter films.

“I feel like I am on a different film. The other films had a structure where it’s like we come into the Great Hall, and then it’s the opening talk, and… that is just gone.

“It’s not very often in the middle of filming you stop yourself and go, ‘This is going to be awesome’. And I’ve done that on a number of occasions.”

The actress added that an extra bonus was being able to perform her own stunts, saying: “I’ve never done anything like it; nothing even close. I have never done any serious stunts or real action, and this is so exciting and dynamic.”

In other news, Daniel Radcliffe has also mentioned in one of interviews he made during the red carpet premiere of HBP in New York, that he would like to return to Broadway someday.

“Absolutely,” he says. “Hopefully I will be back in the next few years. I’d love to do something in the States again.”
